According to Gazeta Wyborcza it was in response of Gdansk President, Pawel Adamowicz to the lack of interests by the National Bank of Poland to carry out such coins. Gdansk dwellers will be able to pay by thalers, which will be brass, silver and gold. Exchanging thalers for zlotys will be guaranteed by the city but the conversion rate of thalers has not been known so far.
