Paying an official visit to Washington, Lech Wałęsa met at the White House with the US Vice President Mike Pence.

President Pence expressed his honour to meet the hero of his youth, whom he considers to be, according to his words, one of the greatest leaders fighting for freedom and human rights in the last two hundred years.

Both gentlemen discussed the most important challenges for the modern world. Lech Wałęsa spoke about the growing need for an efficient American leadership in the times of increasing geopolitical uncertainty.

The conversation, which was an important moment in over a century of Polish-American relations, took place in an atmosphere of friendship and kindness.
