LWI attends European seminar in Paris

2019-10-25

The Lech Wałęsa Institute Foundation is one of only four organisations in Poland granted funding within the “Europe for Citizens” program. Beneficiaries from whole Europe, including our representatives, had been invited to attend a seminar in Paris in the house of Jean Monnet on October 23-24, devoted to the topic of European remembrance and heritage promotion among young people.

The event Taking Stock of European Memory Policies in 2019, co-organised by the European Parliament, EUROM and the European Commission in cooperation with the EACEA, encompassed a series of workshops aimed at strengthening participants’ competence in the area of international cooperation and communication, as well as promoting history among young citizens. The goal of the meeting was to establish solutions to improve effectiveness of the „Europe for Citizens” program in the field of historical education.

Participants had the pleasure to attend the discussion with representatives of Sciences Po, one of the world’s leading social sciences universities, the European Parliament, and delegates of the EU member states.
